Summer is the best time to be outdoors. So this summer, we decided to take our Paint to Learn programming outside of the classroom and into Tacoma's beautiful parks through an innovative partnership with Metro Parks Tacoma. The Paint in the Park activities bring kids, parents, friends, neighbors and community members together to learn about STEAM through creative play. Encouraging Literacy with Little Free Libraries

Early literacy skills are important for students to develop. The more books young children are exposed to at an early age, the better readers they will become and the better academic outcomes they will have. One way to ensure that students are equipped with these skills is to make sure that they have access to age-appropriate reading materials.
