KBTC is committed to serving THA families and continues to build community through afterschool programs and family and community learning programs such as Prime Time Family Reading at Bay Terrace. This Spring, we partnered with Humanities Washington, Tacoma Public Library, and Tacoma’s Peace Laureate, Kwabi Amoah Forsom, to offer a 6-week family engagement activity around reading. The program sparked conversation and discussion around a diverse selection of children’s stories, and over 40 children and families attended. Dinner was served every time, which helped to build community and create a sense of belonging. We are proud to continue to offer programs that engage families in meaningful ways.
